About this policy

Ambra helps you organise your wardrobe and choose outfits. This policy explains the information used by the app and the choices available to you. For privacy questions or requests, contact ambra.support@protonmail.com.

Your account and wardrobe

We use your account identifier, email and chosen sign-in provider to provide and secure your account. Apple may supply a private relay email. Your clothing photos, garment details, style preferences, outfit feedback, wear history, saved outfits, plans, trips and packing checkmarks are stored with your account to provide styling and sync between devices. Supabase provides account authentication, database, file storage and sync services.

Optional AI sharing with OpenAI

Before the first AI request, we ask for permission to share data with OpenAI. Clothing analysis sends the photo you select. Outfit generation sends garment details, style preferences and rules, feedback, recent outfit selections, wear history and the outfit or weather context you choose. We do not include your account email, password, Apple or Google sign-in credentials in these AI requests. Clothing photos may contain people or surroundings: choose clothing-only images and avoid sensitive information. AI results can be inaccurate; review them before saving.

Your AI choice

AI sharing is optional and is off until you allow it. We record your decision and its version with your account. Turn it off in Settings → Privacy & AI to stop future AI requests on all devices. Existing saved items and local outfit suggestions remain available. Adding new clothing through photo analysis requires AI sharing. Withdrawing permission does not recall information already sent or delete your saved items. OpenAI processes requests under its own service terms and privacy policies. Ambra requests that responses are not stored through the API; this does not eliminate provider security or abuse-monitoring retention.

Optional background removal

If you select background removal and separately allow it, the selected garment photo is sent to Clipdrop for processing. The original photo is preserved. You can withdraw permission in Privacy & AI. This feature may be unavailable while its service is not configured.

Photos, camera and weather

We request camera access when you take a photo and use the system photo picker when you select an image. We do not upload your entire photo library. Weather is optional: you can enter a city or request device location. Selected coordinates or a city search are sent through our server to Open-Meteo for forecasts and geocoding. Forecast and location context may be included in an AI outfit request only when AI sharing is allowed. You can use the app without granting location or camera access.

Storage, retention and deletion

Account data and uploaded photos are kept while your account is active or until you remove them. Local copies and unsent photo drafts can remain on your devices for offline use. Signing out ends your session. Cached copies and unsent drafts may remain on a device; deleting your account clears its local app data and drafts on the device used for deletion. Another device may retain an offline copy until it reconnects. Delete account in Settings removes your account, wardrobe, uploaded images, saved outfits, feedback, plans and trips from the live service. We may retain operational logs or provider backups for their normal retention periods, and records required by law. Provider copies are subject to the provider's retention policies. AI spending controls keep limited accounting records to prevent abuse; account-linked records are deleted with your account, while anonymous global accounting records are kept for up to seven UTC calendar days.

Security and service providers

We use account access controls and encrypted network connections to protect your data. No service can guarantee absolute security. Supabase, OpenAI, Clipdrop, Open-Meteo, Apple and Google may process information in countries outside your own. We do not sell your wardrobe data or use it for targeted advertising. Operational security logs may include request identifiers, IP addresses, timestamps and error information. Avoid putting sensitive information in photos, garment notes or feedback.

Your rights and contact

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, receive a copy of or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, restrict processing or object to certain uses. You can edit or remove saved information in the app and initiate account deletion from Settings. Contact ambra.support@protonmail.com for help or other privacy requests. You may also contact your local data protection authority. Material changes to AI recipients or purposes require a new sharing choice.
